The Australian Team Sets a New Benchmark as Captain Alyssa Healy Has One Peak Left to Climb.

It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

That it took until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batsmen to possess a record if never given the chance.

When she was removed Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the last Australia's opponents at this tournament should hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this victory succeeding success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

But while she afterwards confessed those injuries have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is expected to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as skipper.
